Cable Car Views of Barcelona

From almost anywhere along Barcelona’s waterfront, and from quite a wide area behind it, you’re almost always in sight of the towers and red cars of the city’s Port Cable Car, or, in its own language, Transbordador Aeri del Port. Or Teleferic del Port. Or…

The ride from the farthest tower, along the Mediterranean shore and through the Jaume I Tower (which used to be a station as well) and on to the pleasant gardens of the Mirador on Montjuic, the city’s iconic hill, takes only about seven minutes, but it gives an opportunity for some great views.

The city’s skyline and main avenues appear below, as well as the renewed construction on the Sagrada Familia basilica.

And there are great views of the port itself.

At the top, the Mirador Gardens are a pleasant place for a break and some views (and even gelato) while you decide whether to walk over to the other cable car that goes to the summit, or begin the winding walk back down.
