Where baby pandas once ruled, attention at San Diego’s zoo will soon be headed toward its newborn baby white rhino, who’s been reported as “healthy, confident and full of energy.” And, as yet, without a name.
So far, Zoo officials are giving him and his mother some privacy before introducing them to the rest of the rhinos and the general public. The calf was born August 6; the father is also a resident at the Zoo. The Zoo posted a video of the new calf and his mother, Livia.
White rhinos are an endangered species, and the San Diego Zoo’s breeding program for them is a leader in the effort to keep the species alive.
I enjoy reading your blog. Your post is interesting and enjoyable.
