Every now and then when the news in the world and travel world seems a bit grim, we get a break for funny animals to help keep the balance.
This week, the 40 finalists in this year’s Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards were announced, giving us the perfect excuse. The awards, founded in 2015 by two professional photographers, one of whom, Tom Sullam, explains: “With so much going on in the world, we could all use a bumper dose of fun and laughter and this year’s finalists have definitely delivered that.”
Aside from laughter, the awards are meant to promote wildlife conservation, and each year’s awards are dedicated to a conservation organization. This year, it’s the UK-based Whitley Fund for Nature.
The final winners will be announced in December, with the top prize a one-week safari in Kenya and a handmade trophy. To see all of this year’s finalists, click HERE
