A new season of rail nostalgia trips will start soon for historic railcars that were part of the famed 20th Century Limited, the New York Central’s iconic New York-to-Chicago headliner.
The trips, organized by the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey, run from New York’s Penn Station to Albany-Rensellaer along the Central’s (now Amtrak’s) famed ‘Water Level Route.’
The schedule can be found at HudsonRiverRail.com. There will be a September run from New York to Chicago, marking the 75th anniversary of the two historic cars used, Hickory Creek and Tavern-Lounge No. 43. They were built for the train’s post-World War II refresh,
