By popular demand, Holland-America is bringing back libraries on its cruise ships after replacing them over the years with ‘Microsoft Studios’ offering technology classes.
HAL president Gus Antorcha, at a journalist ship tour of the line’s newest ship, Nieuw Amsterdam, said the restoration was done first on Rotterdam, which was in construction at the time, and would be rolled out to other ships as they go through renovation.
Antorcha said that during the pandemic ‘pause’ in the cruise industry, the line had asked members of the Mariner Society, their loyalty program, what they most wanted Holland America to offer and libraries topped the list.
