An ambitious and unusual 34-day cruise will visit twelve states and nearly all the major battlefields of the Civil War next spring, using three river cruise ships and land transportation to link their routes.
The cruise will leave New Orleans on May 4, 2024, with the first sailing on the Mississippi River on American Cruise Lines’ American Melody. After a transfer, the itinerary continues on the Tennessee River on American Symphony, and finishes on American Eagle. The third ship will sail on the Intracoastal Waterway, the Potomac River and Delaware Bay, finishing on June 6 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
