Rusty is a native of Deerfield, in western Massachusetts. He spends his days hanging out on the lawn of the Memorial Holt local history museum.
It might seem odd for a dinosaur to hang out at a museum full of information about the settlement of Massachusetts and the expulsion of its native population, but Rusty has a claim: footprints of his ancestors were found nearby.
Rusty was created in 2012 by a local artist, Jessica Denehy of Patina Metal Designs in Deerfield. When I visited in April, he was all ready with flowers for Spring and a flag to support Ukraine.
