The Art Gallery of Alberta is located in downtown Edmonton, on Churchill Square (as are City Hall and the city’s library). The Museum’s collection features over 6,000 works with a focus on Alberta and Western Canadian art.
I visited Edmonton during the high point of Covid hysteria — very prominent in Canada — when everything was mostly locked down, so I didn’t get to explore the collection. But I enjoyed the building’s interesting architecture. The current form the building was designed by Randall Stouts Architects of California.
