Island Fantasy for sale cheap

Another time around for that dream—a private island in a warm climate surrounded by… well… water. And this one comes, as the Independent (UK) points out, for less than an apartment in London.

Iguana Island is in, or rather off the coast of, Nicaragua, near Bluefields, and is offered for £377,400, or about $475,000. The paper says that the average sale price of an apartment in London last year was £569,300.

And those London apartments don’t come with five acres of land, a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house and a wrap-around porch. And, they’re not likely to have space left over to put in your own swimming pool and helipad. There’s also a 28-foot-high observation tower, in case you want to look back at the coast.

There’s also a separate staff dwelling on the other side of the island, and the selling agent says the staff of managers and caretakers are willing to stay on. The ad states that “due to a death in the family, the current owner has Iguana Island on the market at a reduced rate and all reasonable offers will be taken into consideration.”
