Benjamin Franklin Statue, Boston

This statue of Ben Franklin is erected outside of Old City Hall in Boston.  It rests on a marble and granite base.  The statue was crafted by Richard Greenough and erected in 1856 to commemorate the sesquicentennial of Franklin’s birth.

01 Ben Franklin

The statue of Franklin sits on a pedestal and measures approximately 8 ft. tall.  Its base has four plaques featuring important scenes from Franklin’s life (Franklin Experimenting with Electricity, Franklin in His Printing Shop, Franklin at Paris Peace Treaty and Franklin at the Declaration of Independence).

02 Ben Franklin

Franklin was an historically important figure and by all accounts an interesting man. His accomplishments are many — inventor, scientist, writer, diplomat, publisher and statesman.
