The Japanese ski resort of Hakuba now has a new attraction to keep off-season visitors streaming in—at least the ones with strong stomachs and little fear. Meet the Hakuba Giant Swing.
Those who pay their 1000 yen to ride will be pulled back and released to swing over space 10 metres above the ground and with incredible views of the ‘Japanese Alps,’ including a one-of-a-kind view of the Hakuba scenery, including the Karamatsuzawa Glacier.
For those who are a bit less adventurous, there’s also the Yoo-Hoo Swing, that swings to only a third the height of the Giant Swing. The area offers other off-season activities as well, such as hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding
