This eye-catching little train takes visitors on a 45-minute tour around the old town of Luxembourg City. Formerly called the Petrusse Express, it’s now known simply as the City Train. It drives through all of the historical sites of the Old Fortress.
It was the supposedly impregnable fortress that gave Luxembourg City the nickname ‘Gibraltar of the North’, but curiously Helsinki’s Suomenlinna claims the same title.
Luxembourg is the only remaining grand duchy in the world and one of the smallest sovereign nations in Europe. It shares borders with France, Germany and Belgium.
