Glass-faced buildings in areas with historic architecture sometimes annoy architectural critics, but they can also provide the delight of reflection. In this case, a tall flat-surfaced building provides a mirror for the historic St Louis Courthouse where Dred Scott once pursued his case for his freedom.
The courthouse is now undergoing renovation as part of the Gateway Arch National Park on the city’s waterfront and will re-open next year.
