The arms race in shipboard entertainment is continuing, with Norwegian about to top Carnival’s boast of the first roller coaster afloat with the world’s first combination waterslide and roller coaster.
The ride will debut in early 2025 on Norwegian Aqua, a new 3,600-passenger ship that sail itineraries in the Caribbean and to Bermuda. The Aqua Slidecoaster will feature “dual slides and a magnetic lift that propels adventurous guests through two different courses” winding around the ship’s funnel, the line said in a news release. The ride will measure three stories high.
The ship will also feature several 3-bedroom duplex suites and the Glow Court, a new digital sports complex which features an interactive LED floor and turn into a nightclub at the end of the day, and some familiar activities like the line’s free-fall slide The Drop that debuted on Norwegian Prima last year.
