Situated about a quarter mile from our home base was an island that had gone to the birds. Literally. We’d cruise by in our guide boat most days as we returned to camp to see what we could find.
We nicknamed it “bird island” as it was home to hundreds and hundreds of birds. Mostly these seemed to be seagulls of different types…
From time to time, we’d also spot a puffin, which was fun! In my experience puffins on the west coast are not common.
