Located in northeastern Idaho is an unusual rock quarry. What’s unique about it are the dozens of old trucks and cars placed on its outer edge for passersby to enjoy. The photo below shows only a small amount of this collection…
It’s private property and I didn’t feel comfortable wandering into the place without permission, but some day hope to get the green light and check it out thoroughly. The quarry is still engaged in the dangerous business of crushing and breaking rock and is a hard hat zone.
This doesn’t detract from some of the vehicles it has on display, like these trucks, many of which seem pretty uncommon….
There’s even an old logging truck, the likes of which I’ve only seen in photos….
Check out this old Bonners Ferry 4H school bus….
Or this souped-up hearse — seems its popular to do put racing stripes or flames on hearses of this vintage.
There were a few small cars around, like a VW bug, and—can it be—that faded red car may be a 1950s DKW Cabriolet.
Sitting high on elevated piles of rock is a pair of 1950s Nash Metropolitans…
Makes me wonder what else is hidden in this quarry.
