Google’s ‘Year in Search’ travel spots

Greece, Spain and Italy are the most-searched destination countries travelers and would-be travelers looked up on Google last year, with Rhodes, Greece, Orlado, Florida and Tel Aviv leading the searched cities list

Google publishes a “Year in Search’ report each year, showing what’s been searched for over the previous 12 months across a variety of categories.

Among countries, the rest of the Top Ten include Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus, Thailand, Egypt, Malta and Morocco. Among cities, the 4th through 10th places belonged to Seville, Marrakech, La Rochelle, France, Delhi, Palermo, Cork, Ireland and Amsterdam.

Rhodes most likely topped the list because of the severe wildfires in the summer and not because people wanted to travel there. These things can be very misleading.
