Business booming for EasyJet, Eurostar

More evidence that the lingering travel effects of the years-long pandemic are fading comes this week from two major European operators: EasyJet and Eurostar, both of which report exceeding 2019 levels lately.

EasyJet reported its biggest sales day ever on January 6, when it filled two planes every minute for hours. The most pooular destinations were Amsterdam, Paris, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca, with May the most popular month. The airline’s package holiday division also reported hot results.

Eurostar, meanwhile, saw a return to 2019 levels with a 22% rise in sales, representing 18.6 million passengers on its routes between London and cities on the Continent. On the three main routes, the rise was even steeper, with Amsterdam up 38%, Brussels up 33% and Paris 25%.
