A few years ago, I spent four fun days rafting the Snake River through Hells Canyon, the boundary between much of Oregon and Idaho. My favorite moments on the trip were at this riverside campsite. It was a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy sunrise and sunset. The eroded basalt hills covered in dry grass and brush are reflected in the still water of the river at dawn.
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
