We’re now officially several days into Spring Break season in the U.S., and the Transportation Safety Administration thinks we’re also on the verge of a new record for spring break air travel, a period TSA defines as March 7-25.
TSA believes it can handle the crowds, with a bit of help from airports, airlines and especially passengers, who are being reminded to speed things up by having boarding pass and ID ready, leaving plenty of time, and being careful to pack properly.
TSA Administrator David Pekoske, in a statement, said that “So far in 2024, travel volumes are trending at nearly 6 percent above the same period in 2023. We always work closely with our airline and airport partners to plan for and meet the increasing travel demand while doing our best to maintain our wait times of 30 minutes or less in standard lanes and 10 minutes or less in TSA PreCheck lanes.”
