Breeze Airways, now almost at its third birthday, is taking some steps familiar to most U.S. airlines: Its fares will now be found and sold through an online travel agency as well as from its own website, it’s getting a co-branded credit card with new loyalty perks, and its adding more cities.
The booking site, Priceline, will have access to all of Breeze’s inventory on its 170 routes and will eventually be able to sell Breeze’s ancillary offerings, including its feature bundles that it labels Nice, Nicer and Nicest.
The move will make Breeze visible and accessible to many more potential travelers. Watch this space to see if deals are in the works with other major booking engines; it would seem logical and likely.
The airline’s Breezy Rewards program is expanding with the arrival of the Barclay’s-issued credit card, which will points on flights and ancillaries as well as on other purchases. Perks include priority boarding, free WiFi—but not free checked bags.
There will also be five new cities, continuing the airline’s plan to connect smaller cities to leisure destinations. They are Bangor, Maine; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Pensacola, Florida; Lansing, Michigan… and one big airport, Dallas/Fort Worth
