Some New Old Cars and Trucks in Noxon, Montana

I’ve developed a growing fascination with older automobiles over the years.  Mostly because many of them are beautifully crafted.  At a time when computers seem to be taking over civilization, the simplicity of vehicles that lack computer chips is appealing to me.

I’ve previously described a find of classic vehicles in western Montana in a post titled “(Another) Field of Rusted Dreams“.  This collection was located near the small town of Noxon.  I recently made a trip through the area and stopped by to see what new cars might be available.  There were some new additions to the collection, like the 1953 Lincoln Capri Sedan shown above.

Here are a few more:

A Rambler of about 1960 vintage.  My dad’s boss drove one of these when I was a boy….

Ford Model T from the 1920s.  I believe the spokes on those tires are made of wood…..

A 1963 Dodge Polara.  One of our neighbors drove one of these…..

A rare White 3000 Cabover truck.  Can’t remember seeing one of these before.

A souped-up Cadillac hearse.  I’ve seen at least a half dozen similar snazzed up hearses of about this vintage (early 1970s).  But it’s the only one that….

While literally having only 2 horsepower, this buggy is probably a century old.  A horse-drawn Standard Oil Co Tanker.  Can’t be many of these left….

And a few others for your enjoyment….

Gumbo's Pic of the Day

The View North

I was visiting a friend, and this was the view from their house. I could understand why they built their house facing this direction. I was taken by the beauty!
