Faces of Morocco: Gallery

Morocco, in northwestern Africa, has a strategic location.  Not far to the north is Europe. To the east is Arabia.  And, of course, to the south is the rest of Africa.  There has been movement of many people through Morocco over the centuries and you’ll see it reflected in its residents. Moroccans can look like Europeans, Arabs, or dark-skinned Africans.

An old friend, Hans Monheimus, from whom I learned a lot about photography, always told me that the most difficult images to capture are those of the human face.  Hans was great at it, and I try my best.

Here are some of the faces I encountered on a recent trip to Morocco:

Gumbo's Pic of the Day

The View North

I was visiting a friend, and this was the view from their house. I could understand why they built their house facing this direction. I was taken by the beauty!
