Disney and its Tokyo Disneyland partner are broadening their relationship by adding a Disney Cruise Lines ship to be based in Tokyo and selling to the Japan market that regularly fills the theme park.
Disney and Oriental Land Company, which have been partners for 40 years, announced the plan for the ship which will debut in 2029. Oriental Land owns and operates the Tokyo Disneyland Resort.
The ship, with about 1250 staterooms, will be built in Germany by Meyer Werft, and will be a sister ship to Disney Wish, but with details regionalized for its intended market.
