Philadelphia back on the cruise map

Philadelphia, which hasn’t been a homeport for cruise ships in over 15 years will return to the map in 2026, with a Norwegian Cruise Line ship that will test the area’s market.

Starting in April, 2026, Norwegian Jewel will sail 9 and 11 day cruises to Bermuda, including an overnight stop in Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard. After the summer Bermuda season, the ship will sail one-way 10 and 11 day cruises between Philadelphia and Quebec City, with alternate sailings from the two cities.

The cruises will operate from Philadelphia’s SouthPort Marine Terminal, but because of the long gap in cruise operations in Philadelphia, the city will be working on updates; Norwegian says preparations are “currently underway with the local government to develop a facility to welcome cruisers.”
