Holland America is tripling down on the 2026 solar eclipse with three cruises offering views of the August eclipse from its ships.
The longest and most unusual route, dubbed Voyage of the Vikings, is a 35-day cruise starting July 18 that crosses the Atlantic twice, starting and ending in Boston. The voyage, on the 1964-passenger Zuiderdam, starts by touring eastern New England and eastern Canada before sailing to Greenland, Iceland, Norway, the Netherlands and Ireland and then returning.
The other two cruises are
- A 28-night Scandinavian Solar Eclipse sailing on the 2,666-passenger Nieuw Statendam out of Dover, England. It begins July 26, 2026.
- A 13-night Mediterranean Solar Eclipse sailing on the 1,964-passenger Oosterdam out of Lisbon. It begins Aug. 9, 2026.
