Danish fans of American chain pizza brands will soon have to switch horses as Pizza Hut returns to Denmark after 15 years—by taking over 20 stores now operated by Domino’s Pizza, which is leaving the market.
Pizza Hut was last available in Denmark in 2009; the image above is from a store in Copenhagen in 1999. Pizza Hut says it now sees “a promising market opportunity” in Denmark.
The move comes months after Domino’s announced it would be closing its 27 locations, which it opened after Pizza Hut left. Pizza Hut says it will add another 20 stores over the next five years.
