TSA PreCheck, the program that lets its ‘trusted traveler’ members go through separate lines with less screening at U.S. airports has hit a new landmark with enrolment going over 20 million, a jump of 33% from last year.
Along with those who have the keep-your-liquids-and-laptop-in-the-bag and keep-your-shoes-on privilege through other programs such as Global Entry, the special screening lanes are now open to over 40 million travelers.
Despite the growing number, the program, which costs just under $80 for five years, says that its members spend less than 10 minutes in security lanes, on average. Over 200 airports and nearly 100 airlines participate in the program.
