Rising at Lock 14

The traffic on the Erie Canal is not what it once was, so it is much more rare to randomly have the chance to see a lock in action. But I came across a boat rising at Lock 14, near Canajoharie NY. It was only an 8-foot rise, but fun to watch.

Jonathon, your post made me wonder about the cost of using the locks.  Surprise, it’s free and includes the help of lock tenders.   Which makes me wonder why there are so few taking advantage of it.https://eriecanalway.org/explore/boating
