A Day in Bloom: Brooklyn’s Rose Garden

One of the pluses of living ‘just around the corner’ from a world-class botanic garden is the easy access as the season change, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden makes it that much easier by prompting me with emails every time there’s something new to see.

One of the regular events is the peak bloom of the Cranford Rose Garden, one of the glories of BBG. It’s not the largest rose garden in North America, although it is one of the most extensive and one of the most beautiful.

The rose garden opened in 1928, and still has some of its original specimens in bloom along with thousands of newer ones. There’s not a lot more for me to say: I’ll let the roses do the talking…
