Thomas Cook, one of the most famous names in travel for 150 years, has a new owner, the second since the collapse of the travel and package-vacation giant in 2019.
The new owner is eSky, a Poland-based company that has made itself a major player in the online travel agency world over the past 20 years, especially in Europe and South America. Originally primarily a booking platform, it has moved into package holidays as well, a field that had been Thomas Cook’s core business.
China’s Fosun Tourism Group has owned the name since 2019 and has operated a booking site under the name Thomas Cook Tourism, but has had limited success, especially after launching almost directly into the pandemic.
