I’ve always enjoyed traveling through Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in large part because of its interesting and extensive collection of Native (First Nations) art. During my most recent visit to YVR I had a few hours to kill while awaiting the arrival of my brother’s flight, so I wandered around and took some photos.

I later discovered that the art in the airport is a product of the YVR Art Foundation, a not-for-profit charity founded in 1993 by the YVR with the intent of supporting British Columbia and Yukon First Nations artists. Its funding is the reason for the abundance of art I really enjoy at YVR.
