One of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica was a visit to the Lankester Botanical Garden (aka Jardín Botánico Lankester, or Charles H. Lankester Botanical Garden). It’s a world class Botanical Garden located on 27 acres outside of Cartago and is home to more than 3,000 plant species. The garden is most famous for its extensive collection of orchids from Costa Rica and elsewhere in Central America and the Caribbean—more than a thousand species. The garden is operated by the University of Costa Rica.
