Be My Eyes, a free mobile app that connects blind and low-vision users with volunteers, companies and artificial intelligence tools to navigate the world around them. has teamed up with Hilton to make hotel stays easier for guests who are blind or visually limited.
Travelers using the app are connected to AI-powered assistance and dedicated Hilton Reservations and Customer Care support teams specifically trained to help users during a hotel stay at participating Hilton brands. Team members can assist with many situations, including changing room temperature, using the coffee maker or navigating hotel public rooms and dealing with the menu in the bar.
The link-up is a new stage in the connection between Hilton and the app; last year they worked together on training the app’s AI model, called “Be My AI” to “enhance its ability to recognize objects and navigate the furniture and fixtures found in Hilton brand hotel rooms,” according to a statement. This year, they’ve moved on to training for Hilton’s customer-facing staff.
