Cambodian officials have agreed to discuss a plan proposed by Thailand for a single visa covering six neighboring countries in much the way the Schengen zone operates in Europe.
The proposal, dubbed “6 Countries, 1 Destination” would allow free travel across Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos and Vietnam, with a goal of eventually including other nearby countries.
The cooperation could also include improved transport links, a region-wide tourism calendar and increasing cooperation among government and tourism industry groups.
