Election Day is still a few days away, but you can indulge your fantasy of being President for a Day, sitting at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office—even if it’s only a replica at an Oregon airport.
First, you’ll need a ticket to fly into Medford, Oregon’s Rogue Valley airport, and make a reservation for the room, which goes for $165 a day, $95 for four hours or $25 for a 15-minute photo op (bring your own White House photographer).
The room, which is often rented for weddings, TV commercial backdrops and film shoots to business meetings, catered dinners and election night parties, was created as a fund-raising scheme for the airport in 2011, after it was turned down on a plan to sell ads on its control tower.
With the help of local sponsors, the airport sourced appropriate furniture and furnishings, using images found on the internet as a guide.
