Deepavali in Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia, being a multicultural and multiethnic nation, boasts of an impressive lineup of festivals throughout the year. Come October or November, it is time for the ‘Festival of Lights’, better known as Diwali or Deepavali—also celebrated in other countries apart from the one of origin, India, and as far away as in the USA, at no greater a place than the White House itself.

In KL, the capital—also known all over the globe as the ‘City of Lights’—the mood of the festivities marries the throb of urban life in a burst of color and sound.

Here are some of my best shots as I enjoyed the ambience and camaraderie of this event on the last day of the last month in the company of my daughter who came visiting on her college break. Do enjoy, and I wish all our readers a joyous and peaceful festive season too!
