Set further away from the city limits of Kuala Lumpur as compared to the better known Perdana Botanical Gardens, the one at Kepong is an oasis of perfect beauty and tranquility, with generously wide albeit sparsely shaded trails and fewer visitor numbers.
An impressive variety of foliage from equatorial rainforest to mossy ferns can be found in the nooks and crannies of this expansive tract, while the lake running through its center provides moments of quiet contemplation in between focused concentration on the botanical aspects.
It is a good idea to either drive there on one’s own or with a friend, or ask the cab to wait there until it is time to return, since public transportation is poor for this site.
Also, go well armed with food and water and sun protection because creature comforts are woefully lacking here. This should not however deter one from a visit to this beautiful attraction.
