Gallery: Street food in Thailand’s “Walking Markets”

“Walking markets” have become an important feature of life in the three main islands in the Gulf of Thailand – Koh Tao, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. Usually held in the early evenings, they come alive is a bustle of colours, music, chatter and smells of delicious food. Just seeing many of the dishes was an experience although I have a short list of some that I missed trying the first time round that I really would like to try… maybe….

As before, I have no idea what half of these delights are but they look and smell so good!

The colors are almost vivid enough to tempt me to try some of the treats I certainly might not be interested in if I knew more about them! These are gorgeous pictures.

You try the crickets and worms first, Pheymont.  If you like them, I might sample a few….but not until they’ve had your OK.

My wife’s cousin used to bring us some interesting crunchy things from his travels, but I chickened out on most (Hey, if you’re telling me it tastes just like chicken…I’ll just eat chicken!)

The View North

I was visiting a friend, and this was the view from their house. I could understand why they built their house facing this direction. I was taken by the beauty!
