Hong Kong based Peninsula Hotels is opening a hotel in Paris, August 1st. It’s one of the most anticipated luxury hotel openings this year.
The historic building took six years to restore. The building was the hotel where George Gershwin stayed when he wrote “An American in Paris.” The signing of the Paris Peace Accords, that was negotiated by Henry Kissinger and ended the Vietnam War, also occurred there.
If it’s anything close to the pictures and video ,it’s spectacular. It’s already booked up for June and July. August has rooms available at 695 Euros a night. Too steep for me but I’ll try and have a look inside next trip.
Hopefully we can get Gumbo to take a few photos when he’s in Paris this summer!
