A wide sandy beach stretches out in front of The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
The hotel was founded in 1935 as a seaside dance club by Frank Horn and Morgan Wynne. The hotel took on this name because the two men — one tall and heavyset, and the other short and thin — were called “the king and the prince” when seen together.
In 1996 the King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort became a member of the Historic Hotels of America and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
