Michelin’s new maps focus on food

Michelin, the French company that makes tires, maps and food ratings has now leveraged the maps and food into a new product—quick reference maps of where to eat. The first in the series, the “New York City Map of Great Places to Eat 2015” went on sale this week for $9.95, with San Francisco and Chicago to follow in January.

 

Michelin’s description: 

“The map uses an A-to-Z index to list Michelin’s Bib Gourmand and Michelin-starred restaurants in all five of the city’s boroughs. Diners can choose restaurants based on cuisine, price, neighborhood, even ambiance and comfort levels. The map also includes street addresses, cross streets and the nearest suggested subway stops. Most importantly, all the restaurants on the map have been visited by Michelin’s famously-anonymous food inspectors. Designed to be durable, the product is laminated with an accordion-fold making it convenient to use and carry.”
