The Azores were not a place I’d considered before reading your post this morning, Rob. I went to my favorite sources, AirBnB and Streetview and was pleasantly surprised. I found a number of rentals, including small houses, for under $40 a night and how can you not love a town, Ponta Delgada, with mosaic patterns in the sidewalks! To top it off, there are 2 tea estates on the island, one, Gorreana, since 1883. With Portugal beckoning, maybe a flight to São Miguel is also in my future. Thanks Rob, Gumbo’s very own air travel watchdog!
The Azores have been on my travel list quite some time and I’m hoping with these new flight options,i’ll finally make it in the next couple of years.
Here’s some info on the islands and I hope someone will share some blogs on TG!

PortMoresby- You’ve completely sold me on visiting tea estates from now on!
Besides the nature, architecture and people, the food seems really interesting .
