I think spring may be just around the corner for us here in Calgary, watching nature change with the seasons is so metaphorical to me. The repeated cycles of death and rebirth that the fall and spring show us is a reminder to me that I must continue to keep going through my own internal deaths and rebirths, to let go of what I need to and let new creation happen within me. It reminds me of my favourite poem:
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
