No, that’s not a misspelling, but it isn’t the word the inventor of Ice Bikes used to describe her new-fangled winter contraption.

Buffalo, NY is known for cold, and the Buffalo River and sometimes parts of Lake Erie freeze over; the city has been trying to turn it into a tourist and recreation opportunity, including building a 33,000 sq. ft. ice rink. Lisa Florczak, whose family business previously included renting pontoon bicycles that go out on the water went to work and devised a bicycle on ice skates for the winter.
They’ve been popular, according to an Associated Press article in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and other cold-weather cities are looking at them for next year.
When I first glimpsed your headline, I thought it would go something like this, “When the weather gives you lemons, eat yellow ice!” (which my mother always told me not to do as a boy!).
Bikes are surprisingly popular in the winter, at least in Calgary. You can even get wider than usual studded snow- tires for them. Interesting story! thanks.
Looks like that might be the kind on the rear wheel of the Ice Bike!
