Austrian village has really hairy experience

When you’re writing about a World Beard Championship, it’s hard not to write a headline like that. This past weekend marked the event, held this year in the Austrian village of Leogang, near Salzburg. The event coincided with the 125th anniversary of the town’s traditional marching band. On the whole…you can imagine.

Contestants from all over Europe and the Americas and a few other places gathered for the event, held every two years, with competition in categories such as Mustache, Chin and Stubble Beard, Full Beard…18 categories in all, and 350 entrants.
