Park officials announced that 100 to 200 tons of Elephant Rock, one of the Hopewell Rocks, fell to the ground on Monday just after the tide went out.
The Hopewell Rocks are rock formations caused by tidal erosion located in the Bay of Fundy, which stretches between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. They are one of Canada’s most famous rock formations. Elephant rock is a favorite among park goers and even featured on the New Brunswick Medicare card.
