A carousel can always draw my attention, but this one was special. Not only does it have some of the flashiest horses I’ve ever seen on the unending track, but it was the brightest sight on the gray, gray morning of my first day in Liverpool.
It’s right downtown, next to the Albert Dock area, once Liverpool’s commercial cargo hub, and now a complex of museums, theatres and cafes. And rides. Besides the carousel, there’s also a large Ferris Wheel with views over the city.
