Like the old Avis ad (“when you’re #2 you try harder”) EasyJet, Europe’s #2 airline behind Ryanair is keeping up the pressure, with a big spring-and-summer expansion.
The airline is based in Engliand, but has been rapidly expanding its European bases and plans to have an EU operating company to keep its place as Brexit unfolds and might affect its ability to fly to anywhere in Europe under the One European Sky rules.
EasyJet already added 36 new routes this year, connecting Paris to Manchester, Lyon to Stockholm and Nice to Mykonos. Three of this new batch of routes serve London’s Luton from Marseilles, Biarritz and Nice. When all the routes are in place, according to François Bacchetta, head of EasyJet France, “Nearly every big French city will be served.”
Here are the new routes and their start dates; fares will be as low as €20 on some flights.
