Paris will soon have a new brigade of multi-lingual police patrolling tourist-heavy areas of the city, ready to assist or take reports in 16 languages.
The city is going out of its way to let tourists know how welcome they are; the city is concerned over a loss of 1.5 million visitors since a series of terrorist attacks and armed robberies over the last year.
The mobile squad will also be able to take official complaints and reports on the spot, instead of taking people to police stations to fill out the papers.
Among the areas where the squad will focus are the major museums and department stores.
